For the first time since the whole thumb business started, I've got something that I'm actually pleased with! Well! I meant to reenter the cyberworld proudly bearing my 07 Ghost Caramelldansen icon, but I am an idiot and ran an update while drawing (I use Ubuntu Linux). This sucessfully wrecked my drawing by turning my picture irriversably into 8 bit colour. Which killed it pretty dead.
However! Return of the Caramelldansen is in progress. Um. When my thumb works. Which isn't very often currently, but I'm hoping that the guys at the probably fictional hand specialist clinic will get back to me soon and we'll see how it goes from there. Until then, I'll (mostly) stick to my pixel work and make some caramelldansen icons.
Oh, the hair is still driving me nuts. And still looks awesome.

I had my hair dyed plum and cut a la Mitsuru the day before yesterday. It looks totally awesome and I've been rolling in the compliments, but right now I just want to cut her stupid floppy fringe thingy off. It just will not sit flat. And I am somewhat irritable already due to my day being full of fail.
I'm going back to my bandanas.

I failed so hard at porn this round. I'M SORRY. I've torn the main tendon in my thumb and so I couldn't draw and I tried the writing but I've been hit by a virus and sleeping away all my free time and so no porn. /emo
I've got some half written Jack Harkness/Crowley (Good Omens) wallporn if people are interested? I'll struggle through if people really want it.
And at least you got my wench!Rikku before three days of tests re-broke my thumb.

Just a quick note to say that I am out of the cast, and attempting to resume normal life. Well, my life. Which is normal to me.
While one-handedly lurking through to internet, I have discovered 07-Ghost, and so to reassure you that my hand is back in almost working order I've drawn you a picture of the main character:
Well, okay. So he's not the main character. But he should be.
I have all the materials necessary for my Mitsuru cosplay! Although nothing's properly finished, and I have a lot of sewing, gluing and playing with foam to do. Pictures probably after I've finished the neck tie.
I'll be getting my hair dyed at the end of the month, so the colour's had more time to settle before the con, which is the 25th-27th of October. We've got the shoes for ![[info]](http://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) palmtree101, she's already got the hair and we're on the lookout for the skirt and shirt basics. Shoes still need to be altered. So. That's not actually at all ready yet.
I've managed to convince nexmelody To be our Shadow, but we've taken the easy route and gone for a Maya, so that shouldn't take more than two-three days to make.
I'm worried that our costumes aren't hand-made enough to enter the contest, as they say around 70% handmade and we're using shop bought shoes, shirts and shirts and then modifying them. Does that count? We're making all the accessories though, so that should count for something.
My thumb's starting to ache and I've still got three more lab reports to type up, so I'll say bye for now. :D

My mood theme isn't working because our server is still fried, and the new one isn't running yet despite my dad's efforts. We do have internet, though! Just no mail, and no website. My mood theme not working annoys me out of all proportion.
I went to the anime club at Uni yesterday, and they're all mad. In a good way, I think. There were Tekken battles on PSPs and playing of Crisis Core on a largescreen PSP, with people perching on the back of the sofa to watch. There is a much larger spread over fandoms than I expect, we have game fans, manga fans, anime fans and web comic fans, as well as anything else that happens to come along. Due to the number of us (25-30) there's always at least one person that shares the same fandom though, so that's good.
Introductions briefly descended into a row about whether DBZ was a decent anime or not, but with the lines somewhat fuzzy the argument was abandoned. All in all, it was a bit more than I expected, and a lot less ordered. I have to fight down the urge to try to take control, as I'm far to busy and would do a terrible job after a month or so, once I get bored.
There was a fair bit of cosplay talk going on, Jackie and I are planning to cosplay as Yukari and Minasato respectively this October at Armageddon, which got a mixed reaction. One girl was sewing Shunsui's pink kimono for her boyfriend in the corner.
In not fandom notes (well, maybe)I finally asked the name of the guy that I have been reading comics next to in Borders for the past two and a half years. I figured it was probably about time one of us cracked. All the same, the usual nerves/embarrassment hit that occurs whenever one initiates contact with the opposite gender was slighly unexpected.
More work to do! Just a short list, but I figure I'd better keep up to date:

The internets is not available at my house currently due to the fact that the latest storm fried our server shorty after my last post. I'm typing this on the school computer, which means that I can't look at porn which means that most of my F-list is out. :P Oh, poopie.
I have, however been playing stupid amounts of Persona3, as I have dealt out my internet time roughly into thirds of housework, Persona3 and study.
Fandomy stuff!

I have a Junpei/Aki fic which I would love to type out when I have the time, as after defeating the lovers twice due to a power cut and seeing the difference in reactions between Mitsuru/Aki and Junpei/Aki, I feel this is just too good an opportunity to pass up.
However due to the overwhelming amount of stuff to do that I am about to write up, this is really on the backburner.
I am also totally convinced that the whole 'running after girls whoops there's Aigis' bit was completely Junpei and Aki's plan to get Minato laid. Just saying.
And now I have spent half an hour procrastinating, I should probably get some work done.

Okay, self. I know that you've had a busy holiday and jetlag, had to look after the house, kitties and sister with no parents around and have had your first week of a new semester all within a week, but you cannot do nothing but play games and read fanfiction all day.
No, really. You'll feel grungy and depressed, not to mention there will be extra work to do.
So, you will:
Have a shower
Do a dishwasher
Get some washing on
Post your damn kinkfest picture
Clean up the living room some
Study for at least an hour
Now go. Clean.

Flight was boring and uneventful, just the way I like it.
HOWEVER. There was a little hiccup in Los Angeles, where:
a) The transit lounge was flooded with sewage, so the entire flight had to go through customs to the 'outside' area of the airport, then turn around and go back through (if you've ever been through US security, you'll know how fun that is), then immediately turn around and go back through customs to end up exactly where we started. Exactly. Where we started. Two hours later. Arrg.
b) The American baggage handlers decided that my beading kit was a threat to society, and consequently broke the locks on my suitcase (breaking my suitcase and laptop touchscreen in the process -why didn't they just ask for the combination?!) pulled everything out of my suitcase, emptied out my beading kit, decided that there was nothing dangerous in there, and threw everything back in. Now, okay, this is annoying but acceptable. Here's where things went wrong: Upon finding out that they had broken the locks on my suitcase, bending the metal parts in the process, they realised that the suitcase would no longer shut. So they put it back on the plane. Open. Through the baggage handling services of both LA and Auckland. Guess how much I got back.

All my transformer toys were broken, and sadly both Skorpys are missing bits, and so cannot be repaired. I will be making a prosthetic arm for mini!Skorpy shorty. My beading kit was decimated. I am missing items of clothing. And it was raining on landing, so my NGE manga go wet. >:(
At least my luggage got revenge, the beads clogged the conveyor belt and it was still broken when I left.
The Air NZ staff were exceptionally helpful, they gave me a suitcase to replace the broken one and to take my remaining luggage home in, and filed a 'damages and pilferage' report. Although we didn't know my laptop was damaged then, so I imaging that I'll be getting back to them. Thankfully my tablet survived, apparently unharmed. Fingers crossed.
Persona3 was taken out of it's case, but it's working fine. Junpei, you wonderful dork.
The general consensus among palmtree101, nexmelody and I is that if Aki is not screwing Junpei, he should be.
I'm listening to So Frenchy So Chic, and loving it so very much. Much to the family's amusement, one of the songs is translated as 'Fuck Me Tender'. XD
Now for a long awaited shower. I love my shower.
